The 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Granges Des Papes (60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault) was brought up most in concrete yet saw 20% new French oak. It has a darker fruited, smoky character as well as solid notes of graphite, roasted herbs, licorice, and scorched earth. The oak is nicely integrated, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a supple, soft texture, and outstanding length. It’s going to keep for a decade.
