The 2018 Barolo Baudana offers lovely creaminess and depth in the mid-weight style of the year. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, plum, pomegranate and sweet floral notes all meld together in this racy, inviting Barolo. There's lovely depth and texture throughout. 94-96 Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Château de Fargues 2014 has an opulent, rounded and powerful bouquet that delivers a payload of botrytized fruit that is precise, upholding the de Fargues style, hints of mandarin and Clementine developing in the glass. The palate has a huge weight in the mouth: a fine line of acidity with layers of clear honey, marmalade and a dash of ginger on the finish. This represents an immensely pure Château de Fargues with enormous length and intensity. Superb.

Deeply pitched black and blue fruit, floral, musky herb and licorice scents are energized by building mineral and cracked pepper flourishes. Broad and weighty on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors, along with suggestions of olive paste and espresso. Extremely primary (of course) but highly promising, finishing extremely long and spicy; solid tannins add grip.

2022 Chateau Duhart Milon Pauillac Blend from France
#135413 750 mL
2022 Chateau Duhart Milon Pauillac
94-96+ Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The Grand Vin 2022 Château Duhart-Milon is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot. It brings more richness as well as classic Pauillac character in its lead pencil, graphite, tobacco, and red and black fruit-driven aromatics. With gorgeous richness, a medium to full bodied mouthfeel, and a great finish, this utterly classic, seamless, balanced Pauillac should be snatched up by readers. It's going to give the 2009 a run for its money.
95-96 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Very Pauillac in its blackcurrant, dark chocolate and walnut husk character. Full-bodied yet compacted. Wet earth, mushroom, earth, black tobacco. Fine and intense tannins. Fresh and complex. 78% cabernet sauvignon and 22% merlot.
93-95 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2022 Duhart-Milon underwent a short 15- to 18-day maceration and is raised in 50% new oak and the rest one-year-old barrels. It has a very graphite/mint-scented nose that is Pauillac through and through. The palate is fresh and vibrant with fine tannins. This is beautifully sculpted with a vibrant pencil lead-tinged finish reminiscent of Grand Puy Lacoste. The 2022 is a fabulous Duhart-Milon that should give 30 to 40 years of drinking pleasure. It's a Pauillac a bit like the late Steven Spurrier insofar that it's a Pauillac always conservatively dressed in a pin-striped suit, but that's the essence of Duhart.
91-93 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Duhart-Milon unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cedar box, loamy soil, herbs and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety palate with a broad attack that segues into a lively, nicely concentrated core of fruit, concluding with a youthfully firm finish.
90-92 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The Wine Independent
Made from 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot, the 2022 Duhart-Milon is deep garnet-purple in color. It rocks up with ready-to-impress notes of warm cassis, blackberry preserves, and menthol, followed by hints of cinnamon stick, rose oil, and fallen leaves. The medium-bodied palate is chock full of lively black berry and minty flavors, framed by grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and lifted.

2022 Chateau Pape Clement Blanc Blend from France
#135879 750 mL
2022 Chateau Pape Clement Blanc
98-99 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
The purity of fruit is really impressive here with crushed apples, pears and lemons. Some mineral and stone, too. Honeysuckle. Very clear and bright. The palate is full and very direct and focused, with a long, salty dried lemon finish and minerality. Fine phenolics at the end. 63% sauvignon blanc, 35% semillon and 2% muscadelle.
The 2022 Château Pape Clément Blanc is another beauty from this team, and if it puts on some weight over the course of its élevage, it will merit an even higher score. Honeyed lychee, minty herbs, melon, and stone fruits define the bulk of the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with good concentration, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. I was able to taste this on multiple occasions with consistent notes.
93-95 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2022 Pape Clement Blanc is a very pretty, exotic white. Drops of Muscadelle in the blend add a very pretty hint of jasmine and lime to play off the richer, riper flavors on the palate. The 2022 offers lovely density and creaminess, with plenty of orchard fruit, marzipan and chamomile flavors, yet also remains light on its feet and wonderfully fresh. Tasted three times.
90-93 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 63% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Sémillon and 2% Muscadelle, the 2022 Pape Clément Blanc exhibits aromas of spices, spring flowers, lemon, peach and hints of jasmine and grapefruit. The palate is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and satiny, with an oaky frame. The finish is long, persistent and elegantly spicy.
93 Georgina Hindle - Decanter
Citrus kick straight away, great direction and focus - there's purity to the lemon, peach, green apple, pear and apricot fruit. Sharp and straight but stylish. Fruity and juicy, precise and detailed, a touch tense still but there's excellent sculpting here and lots of life. Quite bold, some toasted nuances putting the wood at the fore and narrowing some of the expression but there's so much to like with a long, spiced finish. Harvest 28 August to 2 September. Yield of 30hl/ha. Michel Rolland and Julien Viaud consultants. HVE3 and Bee friendly certified. Rolland & Associés consultants.

2022 Vieux Chateau Certan (Pomerol) Blend from France

2022 Vieux Chateau Certan (Pomerol)
97-99 Wine Cellar Insider
Dark in color, and equally dark in fruit, you already find truffles, violets, roses, lilacs, black plums cherries. The palate is sensuous, supple, and silky, with a vibrancy to the fruits, a mild of touch of salt, and a refreshing hint of mint that shines at the back end of the finish. Refined, and elegant, this is going to age and evolve for decades. The wine blends 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.4% ABV, 3.78 pH. The harvest took place September 6 - September 21. Yields were 35 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2060. 97-99 Pts
97-99 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon (very similar to the 2019), the 2022 Vieux Château Certan is a magical wine of exemplary harmony and balance. Offering up complex aromas of dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of exotic spices, licorice, iris, violets and loamy soil, it's full-bodied, supple and seamless, its sweet structuring tannins entirely concealed by a multidimensional core of pure, vibrant fruit. This sensual, perfumed Pomerol is likely to rank alongside the 2019 and 2016 in the pantheon of recent Vieux Château Certan vintages.

2009 Chateau Haut Brion
#64309 750 mL
100 Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
What a blockbuster effort! Atypically powerful, one day, the 2009 Haut-Brion may be considered to be the 21st century version of the 1959. It is an extraordinarily complex, concentrated effort made from a blend of 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc with the highest alcohol ever achieved at this estate, 14.3%. Even richer than the perfect 1989, with similar technical numbers although slightly higher extract and alcohol, it offers up a sensational perfume of subtle burning embers, unsmoked cigar tobacco, charcoal, black raspberries, wet gravel, plums, figs and blueberries. There is so much going on in the aromatics that one almost hesitates to stop smelling it. However, when it hits the palate, it is hardly a letdown. This unctuously textured, full-bodied 2009 possesses low acidity along with stunning extract and remarkable clarity for a wine with a pH close to 4.0. The good news is that there are 10,500 cases of the 2009, one of the most compelling examples of Haut-Brion ever made. It requires a decade of cellaring and should last a half century or more. Readers who have loved the complexity of Haut-Brion should be prepared for a bigger, richer, more massive wine, but one that does not lose any of its prodigious aromatic attractions.
100 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Extravagant and exotic, but still lively, this is a super-concentrated and elegant wine that's already breathtaking, yet has enormous aging potential. Plenty of wet earth and mushroom character alongside the cassis and blackberry aromas. Super-long, perfectly balanced finish. Drink or hold. (Horizontal Tasting, London, 2019)
98+ Ian Dagata - Vinous Media
46% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 14% cabernet franc; a 57% selection; 14.3% alcohol) Saturated bright ruby. The deep, brooding nose is quite marked by the cabernet franc presence, opening slowly with air to offer sexy, soil-driven aromas of violet, raspberry, mocha, minerals and sweet spices. Then rich and sweet in the mouth but with outstanding minerality and enticing violet lift to the ripe red cherry, raspberry, cocoa and black pepper flavors. Offers a stunning combination of concentration, density and balance; as backward and reserved as this wine is today, it manages to come across as graceful. The endless palate-staining finish is loaded with sweet, ripe tannins and an exhilarating note of floral black pepper. This wine made me think of what a blend of the great '89 and '05 Haut-Brions might taste like.
98 Decanter
Inky purple in colour, this has a rich, intense nose of damson, blackberry and olive paste. The palate is generous in texture and weight, more broad-shouldered than Château Margaux - which is already beginning to show its florality. This is balanced but well built in every inch. The warmth of the vintage coming through as fruit ripeness, liquorice, spice and punch, with the beginnings of truffle notes. There's no question of its excellence and its bonhomie.

95 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the lieu-dit of Le Charlemagne. It has a gorgeous bouquet with touches of yellow plum, grilled hazelnuts, white linen and light peachy aromas. The oak, almost half new, is neatly integrated. The palate is well-balanced with fine tannins and a killer line of acidity. It's taut and fresh but with actual weight and depth on the finish. This is one of the best Corton-Charlemagne that I have tasted in this vintage.

2020 Chateau La Conseillante Blend from France
#134737 750 mL
2020 Chateau La Conseillante
100 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
One of the wines of the vintage is the 2020 La Conseillante, a blend of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc that wafts from the glass with inviting aromas of raspberries, red cherries and mulberries mingled with exotic spices, violets and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and vibrant, it's a beautifully elegant, sensual wine with a deep core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with a long, extravagantly floral finish. This is a Pomerol of striking purity and sophistication. Congratulations to Marielle Cazaux and her team for surpassing even what they achieved in 2016 and 2019 with this brilliant 2020
99 Jonathan Choukroun - Vert de Vin
n the nose, elegant, nicely precise and offers power with delicacy, complexity with, energy/dynamism, a little freshness and a fine concentration. It reveals notes of boysenberry, bright small black fruits and hints of lily are combined with nuances of fresh black currants, violet, fresh plum, fine hints of crushed strawberry, lilac, cardamom, bergamot, szechuan pepper, discreet hints of sweet spices and a very subtle hint of vanilla. An imperceptible hint of white flowers in the background. A nice multi-layered side, a very nice complexity. On the palate, fruity, balanced, nicely racy, all in precision and delicacy and offers juiciness, suavity, good definition, a certain gourmandize, a fine acidic frame, subtle tension, suavity, depth, power in delicacy, roundness, a little fleshiness, a multi-layer side, creaminess, an airy character in the balances as well as a nice stretched side. A controlled boldness, in its richness and in the intensity of its freshness. The wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy raspberry, juicy/pulpy blackcurrant and hints of violet associated with touches of black currants, fresh/zan licorice, sweet spices, star anise, bergamot as well as fine cocoa, nutmeg and a very discreet touch of pepper. The tannins are elegant, racy, precise, structured and nicely polished. Good length and very nice persistence. A nuance of a powdery side on the finish/persistence. Nice work on the bitters, especially at the finish. A great success that is all elegance and subtlety. A very great wine/millennium that has not yet revealed its full potential.
99 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Another utterly brilliant wine from this team, the 2020 Château La Conseillante is based on 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc that saw 70% new French oak. Unquestionably in the same league as the 2019, this beauty offers an incredible bouquet of pure blue fruits, cassis, violets, spring flowers, and truffle. This carries to a full-bodied, seamless, incredibly elegant, layered Pomerol offering perfect tannins, the vibrant, focused, structured style of the vintage, impeccable balance, and a gorgeous finish. As always, this wine is more about purity, finesse, and elegance than power. It offers pleasure even today yet should be given a decade in the cellar, and it will be a 40- to 50-year wine.
The balance and energy to this is very impressive with blackberry, black-olive, tar and walnut character. It’s full, but very compact with superb tannin quality that is intense, yet so fine-grained, building layers on the palate. A subtle and structured young wine. It really goes on and on. Check Price
A seriously memorable wine from La Conseillante in 2020. Uplifting and glamorous with blackcurrant patisserie, scented flowers - the Cabernet Franc showing itself on the nose, alongside herbal touches with dark chocolate. Immediately juicy and so lively and bright on the palate turning creamy with a combination of chalky and bitter tannins and touches of wet stone lifted by the almost sweet Merlot fruit with freshness all the way through. A real ‘drink me’ wine with balance and harmony that grows and expands as it opens.
98 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The Wine Independent
A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, La Conseillante 2020 has a pH of 3.67 and a deep garnet-purple color. It waltzes out with energetic scents of crushed blueberries, blackberry preserves, and juicy black plums, giving way to nuances of lilacs, redcurrant jelly, iron ore, and cumin seed, with a touch of fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is vibrant and intense, featuring a firm, grainy backbone and bright acidity to counter the muscular black fruits, finishing long and mineral-laced.
